Susie’s Lumpia House
Founded in 1988 in Flour Bluff, Corpus Christi, Texas, Susie's Lumpia House quickly became a beloved destination for authentic Filipino cuisine. In late 1989, the restaurant gained prominence by securing a Concessionaire Contract with the U.S. Marine Corps Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) at the U.S. Naval Station in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. This contract allowed Susie's to serve military personnel and their families, further enhancing its reputation. By early 1997, Susie's partnered with Burns & Roe Services, catering to over 150 employees while maintaining its MWR contract. However, after nearly a decade in Guantanamo Bay, the restaurant paused operations in late 1998 and did not reopen until early 2016. On February 16, 2016, Susie's resumed its journey in San Antonio at 8923 Culebra Rd. The restaurant quickly gained popularity, prompting a move to a larger location at 7914 Culebra Rd. in mid - 2018. A hallmark of Susie's is its commitment to the military community. The restaurant proudly offers military discounts to active duty and retired service members as a way to honor their service and sacrifice. With a rich history and dedication to quality food, Susie's Lumpia House remains a cherished part of the community, delivering flavors of home and fostering connections among patrons. Through its culinary offerings and community spirit, Susie's continues to make a meaningful impact of the lives of those it serves.
