Shenel Rimando

Shenel Rimando earned two degrees from the University of St. Thomas-Houston in Finance and Marketing. Both degrees prepared her to thrive in various industries such as retail, hospitality, oil & gas, finance, tax consulting, tech, and construction. Shenel has 17 years of customer service experience, 14 years of e-commerce sales experience, and 13 years of leadership experience. Shenel was recognized by her Alma Mater with a feature as an alumni success story.

Shenel is a project manager for a national commercial sign company overseeing projects throughout the United States. She was a local leader for the Women’s Council of Entrepreneurs in 2021. She became the first Filipina President of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) San Antonio chapter from 2021-2023 and was featured in Construction News. Shenel has won numerous awards including the NAWIC South Central Regional Award for Marketing. During her presidency, Shenel’s NAWIC chapter won a NAWIC national DE&I award.

After her sister was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2018, Shenel’s sister encouraged Shenel to create a platform where Shenel could share her ideas with others. Shenel created the savesellshenel.com blog where she helps her clients find ways to save and make money so they can have more time to spend with people they love. She features local businesses and artists on her blog to inspire her audience to pursue their dreams. Shenel was nominated for various WEGO Health awards for raising awareness about pancreatic cancer in honor of her sister.

Shenel’s diverse background led her to be featured as a guest speaker on Great Day SA, the international summit Conquer Like a Girl, and multiple events throughout Texas. She has been featured in Voyage San Antonio and Canvas Rebel magazine. 

Shenel helps raise awareness about Filipino and Asian culture as one of the hosts of Friendly Pinoy SA where she interviews small businesses and performers to amplify their story. Shenel hopes one day everyone she meets will know about Filipino food and culture.
