Dr. Zamuco-Carangal began her career in community general medicine immediately after medical school while waiting for her interviews for her Pediatric residency program in the US. After completing her residency training, she joined a prominent pediatric group in the Rio Grande Valley, where she practiced Pediatrics for 5 years.
Driven by her dedication to patient care, Dr. Zamuco-Carangal established her own private practice in the city of McAllen, TX, where she served the community for almost 11 years. During this time, she also took on the role of Medical Director for Valley Therapy Center, a pediatric rehabilitation center. Additionally, she actively contributed as a committee member of South Texas Health System.
In 2014, Dr. Zamuco-Carangal relocated to San Antonio and joined a pediatric group in the Stone Oak area. She continued to provide exceptional care to her patients for 8 years, even during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic. As the pandemic neared its end, she contemplated retirement and exploring new endeavors.
During her career transition, Dr. Zamuco-Carangal pursued her interests in real estate, which she had been involved in alongside her medical practice. She also dedicated more time to her passion for ballroom dancing, competing as an amateur in American rhythm and later transitioning to International Latin. Additionally, she indulged in her love for gardening, focusing on growing herbs and vegetables. She also tried to rekindle her hobbies in piano playing and painting.
Dr. Zamuco-Carangal's commitment to serving the community extended beyond her medical practice. She actively volunteered for organizations such as the San Antonio Food Bank, Haven for Hope food pantry, and Soldier's Angels for the Veterans.
